Take Risks, But Aim at the Right Target!
> `“I therefore so run, not as uncertainly; so fight I, not as one that beateth the air.” — 1 Corinthians 9:26 (KJV)`
People take risks. Every day, people earn their living by taking risks. Despite the possibility of death being greater than the chances of survival in certain situations, people still take risks.
Some run to board a moving train, while others run to get off a moving train. Some take risks with speed, others with heights or depths. Some do it to set records, while others do it to make a name for themselves. Some take risks in the gym, while others do so in prison. Some take risks without worrying about breaking a bone, while others do so without worrying about losing their lives.
Even though such risks may make people famous only in this world, potentially costing them eternal life, people still take risks. Paul says, _“I therefore so run, not as uncertainly; so fight I, not as one that beateth the air.” (1 Corinthians 9:26)_
Paul also speaks of taking risks, and he himself faced numerous dangers. But his risks were not without a goal or purpose; rather, they were aimed at the right target. Having the assurance of life in this world and the world to come, he went to dwell with God forever.
If we are to take risks, let us take them not for worldly gain, but for God. Make an effort, but do not make it in vain. Live, but live with a purpose.

Apostle Ashok Martin
