*The Cross Is Sufficient*
> “Whoever causes one of these little ones who believe in Me to sin, it would be better for him if a millstone were hung around his neck, and he were drowned in the depth of the sea. Woe to theworld because of offenses! For offenses must come, but woe to that man by whom the offense comes!” Matthew 18:6–7″
Jesus gave a serious warning against causing His little ones to stumble.
New believers come to Christ in simple faith. We must not burden them with unnecessary rules or make them feel that Jesus is not enough. There is a difference between welcoming someone to Christ and demanding that they become spiritually mature before they are allowed to come to Christ.
A new believer is a spiritual child. Children grow gradually. We should not expect a person who has just encountered Jesus to understand everything immediately. The Holy Spirit works in people’s lives, bringing conviction, transformation, and spiritual growth. Our responsibility is to love, teach, encourage, disciple, and patiently guide them toward Christlikeness.
We should not place unnecessary human rules between a struggling person and the Saviour. A person may come to church broken, confused, or still carrying their old ways. Our first response should be love, grace, and the truth of Christ—not condemnation.
Holiness matters, but spiritual growth takes time. Let the Holy Spirit transform them. Let us never become a stumbling block between a lost soul and Jesus.
