DAY 90
*“Dwelling in Paneled Houses While God’s House Lies Waste”*
> “Is it time for you yourselves to dwell in your paneled houses, and this temple to lie in ruins?” — Haggai 1:4
God’s life never leads a man into comfort without purpose; it always calls him into responsibility. Israel had returned, houses were built, lives were settled—but God said My house still lies waste. This is the tragedy of unfinished obedience: activity without alignment, blessing without building, survival without significance.
*1 Chronicles 22 – 2 Chronicles 36:* David prepared, Solomon built, kings were judged, exile followed—not because God lacked power, but because men misplaced priority.
*Haggai 1–2:* Heaven does not respond to busyness; it responds to obedience. When God’s dwelling is neglected, effort leaks, labor dries up, and satisfaction disappears—you earn wages only to put them in bags with holes. But the moment a man turns his heart back to God’s purpose, heaven turns with him: “I am with you,” says the LORD. Glory does not come by memory of former things, but by alignment with present instruction.
God does not ask for more strength—He asks for reordered priorities. Build what God wants built, and He will shake nations to supply it. The latter glory belongs to those who obey now, not those who remember yesterday.
