Your Trust matters
“Some trust in chariots, and some in horses: but we will remember the name of the LORD our God. They are brought down and fallen: but we are risen, and stand upright.” – Psalm 20:7-8
Who you trust matters a lot, it determines how far you will go, and how strong you will remain till the end. The one you trust should be capable enough to meet your expectations. The capacity of the eternal God can not be compared to the capacity of mortal beings which God created.
Here the psalmist says in Psalm 20:7-8 , that some do trust in the chariots and horses that they possess, the modern day chariots and horses could be people’s possessions, their social or political status, their jobs or their acquaintances, however glorious and powerful it all may look but all of these things are still mortal and powerless in comparison to the Almighty and self-existing God.
The supreme God, creator and master of the universe has the power and capacity to change the unchangeable, in fact He is the one that allows power, if He allows something He can even disallow it, he created horses and gave it capacity to drive chariots in war, the same God is able to take that capacity away. He has done it in the past and still remains the same.
Therefore trusting God instead of mortal things is superior wisdom that we must all possess. Because the psalmist says further that those who trust in mortal, destructible things are “brought down and fallen”, but we who trust in our God alone, “we are risen, and stand upright”. Those who trust him are never ashamed.
Choose to trust God today, and never put your trust upon mortal beings, only God possesses the capacity to uphold your trust and your expectation.
