Homesick to Be with the Master

*Homesick to Be with the Master* > That’s why we’re always full of courage. Even while we’re at home in the body, we’re homesick to be with the Master—2 Corinthians 5:6 TPT  Paul the Apostle reveals a deep spiritual feeling that many believers quietly carry in their hearts — a holy homesickness. While we live in our earthly bodies, Scripture describes them as a tent, a temporary dwelling meant only for a journey. Because of this, the believer realizes that this world, with all its beauty and struggles, is not the final home. Deep within the spirit there is a longing to be with the Master, Jesus Christ. This homesickness is not a desire to escape life but a yearning for the fullness of life that God has prepared. The groaning Paul speaks about is the cry of a soul that knows it was created for eternity. Our mortal bodies grow weary, suffer, and carry burdens, yet the spirit looks forward to the day when we will be clothed with immortality and mortality will be swallowed by life. Even seasons of loneliness, sorrow, or feeling out of place in this world can awaken this longing. They remind us that our truest belonging is not here but with the Lord. As Jesus Christ says in Gospel of Matthew 5:4, those who mourn will be comforted. The believer’s homesickness is therefore a sacred longing — a quiet cry of the heart that says, “Lord, my true home is with You.” Your brother in Christ, Apostle Ashok Martin
