*Pursue Peace and Presence*
> `“Now, may the Lord himself, the Lord of peace, pour into you his peace in every circumstance and in every possible way. The Lord’s tangible presence be with you all.” — 2 Thessalonians 3:16 TPT`
Peace is not the absence of problems; it is the presence of God in the midst of problems. Paul does not pray that every difficult circumstance will immediately disappear. He prays that the Lord of peace will pour His peace into us in every circumstance. This means we can remain inwardly steady even when everything around us is uncertain.
We often think, “When this situation changes, I will have peace.” But God teaches us to receive peace before the situation changes. Our peace cannot depend upon people behaving correctly, circumstances becoming favourable, or every question being answered. When our trust is in God, we can say, “I may not understand what is happening, but I know who is with me.”
To pursue peace does not mean avoiding every conflict or becoming passive. It means refusing to allow anger, fear, bitterness, or anxiety to control our hearts. We can stand for truth, pursue justice, set boundaries, and deal with difficult situations while still keeping our spirit surrendered to God.
The key is the presence of God. When we become conscious that the Lord is with us, we stop carrying everything as though everything depends upon us. We do what is in our hands, and we place what is beyond our control into His hands. Faith does not mean doing nothing; it means doing our part and trusting God with the results.
