*What the Lord Requires of Us*
> `“He hath shewed thee, O man, what is good; and what doth the LORD require of thee, but to do justly, and to love mercy, and to walk humbly with thy God?” — Micah 6:8`
God has not hidden His will from us. He has made it plain: do justly, love mercy, and walk humbly with Him. This is not merely a command for our private spiritual life. It is the standard by which we are to conduct every dealing with every person—in our homes, relationships, ministry, business, disagreements, leadership, and even when we are treated unfairly.
To do justly means we refuse to twist truth for our advantage. We deal honestly, speak rightly, and seek what is right even when doing so costs us something. To love mercy means we do not merely tolerate people—we choose compassion. We remember that we ourselves live by the mercy of God. Therefore, we do not rush to condemn, humiliate, or repay wrong with wrong.
To walk humbly with God means that we do not make ourselves the centre of every situation. We surrender our pride, our right to have the last word, and our desire to prove ourselves. We walk conscious that we are accountable to God.
And sometimes humility is difficult. Sometimes we may feel justified in defending ourselves, answering back, or demanding recognition. But difficulty does not cancel God’s command. The world may measure strength by how forcefully a man asserts himself. God measures it by whether that man can remain righteous, merciful, and humble in His presence.
