*Wounded by Correction, but Held by Covenant*
> Therefore fear thou not, O my servant Jacob, saith the LORD; neither be dismayed, O Israel: for, lo, I will save thee from afar, and thy seed from the land of their captivity; and Jacob shall return, and shall be in rest, and be quiet, and none shall make him afraid. Jeremiah 30:10
God speaks to a people who had been disciplined, scattered, wounded, and brought low because of their disobedience. Yet God still called them “my servant Jacob” and promised, “I am with thee… to save thee” (Jeremiah 30:10–11).
God’s correction is real, but it is measured: “I will correct thee in measure.” His purpose was not destruction, but restoration: “I will restore health unto thee, and I will heal thee of thy wounds” (Jeremiah 30:17).
So, if God is correcting you, do not mistake correction for rejection. And if God ever uses you to correct someone else, do not boast over their wounds. Handle the rod with humility, because the God who permits the wound is also the God who heals it.
*You may be wounded—but you are not necessarily rejected. You may be corrected today—and restored tomorrow.*
