*THROUGH FAITH, THEY WROUGHT RIGHTEOUSNESS*
> “Who through faith subdued kingdoms, wrought righteousness, obtained promises, stopped the mouths of lions.”— Hebrews 11:33
Faith is not merely believing that God exists. Faith is trusting God enough to obey Him. Hebrews says that these people, “through faith… wrought righteousness.” Their faith did not remain in their hearts or on their lips—it became visible through their lives.
“Wrought righteousness” means they practised righteousness. Because they believed God, they chose what was right even when it was difficult, unpopular, costly, or dangerous. Their faith produced obedience.
Noah believed God, and he built the ark. Abraham believed God, and he went out. Moses believed God, and he forsook Egypt. Daniel trusted God, and he continued to pray even when it could cost him his life. Their faith was proved by what they did.
True faith will always produce a changed life. If we truly trust God, His Word will influence our decisions, our character, our relationships, our choices, and even what we do when nobody is watching. Faith says, “I will obey God even when I cannot see the outcome.” It does not wait for the miracle before becoming obedient. Noah built before the rain came. Abraham walked before he knew where he was going. Daniel prayed before he knew whether the lions would be spared.
Faith does not mean the absence of fear; it means refusing to let fear control your obedience. You may tremble and still stand. You may suffer and still remain faithful. You may not understand and still trust God. And notice the result: “subdued kingdoms… obtained promises… stopped the mouths of lions.” Their victories began with something simple but powerful—they believed God and acted upon His Word.
So ask yourself today: Is my faith only something I profess, or is it something I practise? Can people see my faith through my obedience, my righteousness, my patience, my holiness, and my courage? We are not saved by our works, but genuine faith will never remain without works.
