The Purpose of Reading Bible – to seek God

*The Purpose of Reading Bible – to seek God*

_`You will seek me and find me, when you seek me with all your heart. (Jeremiah 29:13)`_

For many of us, reading the Word has become just a daily ritual or habitual activity. By following this routine, we get bored of reading the Word and feel monotonous. But God’s Word is a spring of living water. Hearing and reading the Word results springs of living water to gush forth from within our hearts. This is only possible when we read the Holy Word to seek God, and that too not with our own wisdom, but with the help of God’s Spirit.

God says in Jeremiah 29:13 that `You will seek me and find me, for you will seek me with all your heart.`

So where and how do we find the great invisible God, who is so great that he does not live in temples made by hands? The Word is the only source, through which we can seek God and find Him. When we seek God in the living Word of the Holy Bible, we feel in our hearts such immense joy and peace of God which is beyond description. Then reading the Word will never become a boredom for us, but becomes an important means of getting closer to God.
