Faith Refined, Not Reduced

Faith Refined, Not Reduced

> “In all this you greatly rejoice, though now for a little while you may have had to suffer grief in all kinds of trials.1 Peter 1:6 (NIV)

Faith is not proven in comfort, but in conflict.

Abram’s journey in Genesis 13–16 shows that *faith matures when sight fails*. When Lot chose the greener pastures of Jordan, Abram chose to trust the unseen promise. God’s covenant came not to the one who chose by sight, but to the one who walked by faith.

When fear tested Abram and when Hagar fled into the wilderness, God revealed Himself as *El Roi — the God who sees* (Genesis 16:13). The eye of God is never blind to those who believe, even when they feel forgotten.

Psalmist sings in Psalm 4: *“In peace I will lie down and sleep, for You alone, Lord, make me dwell in safety.”* Faith sleeps in peace even when the world trembles in uncertainty.

The *Word became flesh* and turned water into wine — a symbol that divine life transforms what is ordinary into something glorious. The same power that turned Abram’s barren season into blessing can turn your waiting into wonder.

Abraham *believed* God, and it was counted to him for righteousness. True faith doesn’t wait for evidence — it stands on God’s word as the final proof.
