“When God hides the Kings”
> “David therefore departed from there and escaped to the cave of Adullam…” — 1 Samuel 22:1
Every man or woman destined for the throne must pass through a cave. The Cave of Adullam was not a place of defeat — it was the secret classroom of divine preparation.
David, freshly anointed yet ruthlessly hunted, found himself in the shadows of Adullam — rejected by men but chosen by God. The oil on his head had not yet met the throne, so God hid him in a cave to teach him what palaces never could. The cave stripped him of men’s applause but wrapped him in God’s presence.
God hides you so He can heal you. He isolates you so He can anoint you. He reduces you so He can release you. Adullam means *refuge* — and that’s what Christ is for us. He hides us, heals us, and homes us until the oil and the throne align.
The distressed and broken came to him — and the same cave that hid a fugitive birthed warriors. God transforms broken followers into mighty men in hidden places.
When you find yourself in your own Adullam season — unseen, misunderstood, stripped, and surrounded by brokenness — remember:
the same cave that humbles you will one day announce you. The tears that fall in the shadows will become oil for your crown.
For the One who calls you does not waste your wilderness. He is not silent; He is shaping you. He is not absent; He is preparing your throne. *“Until the time that His word came to pass, the word of the Lord tested him.” — Psalm 105:19*
Hallelujah 🙌
