*Speak well of your competitors*
`Bless those who persecute you [who are cruel in their attitude toward you]; bless and do not curse them. Romans 12:14`
To “Bless” means to “speak well of”. You can always find something complimentary to say about another believer without damning them with faint praise. Publicly speake well about them who was throwing spears at you. People may expect you to mount a counter attack instead of responding positively. They might have no idea what you are doing or why. But taking the high ground should never become a lost art in the Christian world.
Speaking well about one’s peers and competitors is profoundly admirable. Unfortunately, we seldom see this among Christians today. Tragically, in the Christian world, it’s not uncommon for mentors to turn on their mentees when they excel them. (Think Saul and David.)
Jesus had something tosay about this in Matthew 5:44, He says _But I tell you, Love your enemies and pray for those who persecute you. Resolve to speak ill of no man whatever; but rather by some means excuse the faults you hear charged upon others, and upon proper occasions speak all the good you know of everybody.
