Working with God rather than for God!
1 Corinthians 3:9
For we are labourers together with God: ye are God’s husbandry, ye are God’s building.
When God created man to share His authority, it was in the context of humanity’s relationship to Him as His offspring. God didn’t create men and women to be servants, but to be sons and daughters who are wholeheartedly involved in running the family business.
Ever since the beginning God always wanted His children to help Him fulfill His purposes. 2 Corinthians 6:1 says We then, as workers together with him, beseech you also that ye receive not the grace of God in vain. Paul says “God’s fellow workers” which means “workers together with Him”. In the original Greek, “fellow workers” means those who “cooperate,” who “help with,” who “work together.” We should always think of our dominion in the context of a joint purpose with God based on mutual love and of the relationship of sons and daughters to their heavenly Father.
God desired offspring who would be like Him and who would share His rulership and dominion. Carrying out God’s purpose and will on earth is man’s vocation. Man is to carry out his dominion in both the physical and spiritual realms. Man can function in his purposes only as he is connected to his Source—to God as Creator and Father.
