Yearning for Understanding!
Wisdom is the principal thing; therefore get wisdom: and with all thy getting get understanding.
Proverbs 4:7
What we learn in the presence of God can never be learned in the presence of men. Most important thing is to get skillful and godly wisdom. Likewise, we must also seek true understanding to apply what we receive from the Holy Spirit.
Let us pray,
Father, I ask for and claim wisdom to make right decisions today. I declare that we are “filled with the knowledge of [God’s] will in all wisdom and spiritual understanding” (Colossians 1:9).
Father, Your Word says in John 10:27 that we, Your sheep, can know Your voice. It says in John 16:13 that You will show us things to come. It says the voice of Your Spirit will come to us and say, “This is the way, walk in it” (Isaiah 30:21). I stand on these promises, Lord, and ask that You would teach us to hear Your voice. Help me recognize when You are speaking to me, and, Holy Spirit, give me the grace to obey.
I put myself in a position to hear and receive instructions from You. I have entered the secret place of the Most High by the blood of the Lamb, and I purpose to live my life in Your presence and always hear Your voice in Jesus’ name. Amen!
