The enemy is after your best years!
And the Lord said, “Simon, Simon, now Satan has asked to have you, so that he can sift you like wheat. ”
Luke 22:31
Satan’s object was to shake and confuse and destroy Simon Peter and the other disciples. But Peter was a special object of Satan’s attack. Even though the devil will like to see fathers of a family go to hell, he is not fighting too much to have them. This satan has already collected what he wanted. He has sifted them like wheat and left them with the empty chaff. There are so many people now that are abandoned. Do you know why? The enemy has already collected what he wants from their lives and he does not want their empty carcasses again.
When you preach to old people; fathers and mothers, their response is quite different. The reason is that almost everything you say to them only reminds them of their past. Their lamentation and tears are-‘I wish I had heard him preached, when I was young.’ This is because no matter how powerful the message preached was, and no matter how serious the repentance be, there are some irretrievable and irreversible choices that even repentance cannot change! This absolutely does not mean that they were too late to be converted and go to heaven. But it was too late for them to enjoy the correct life that the World of God they were just hearing, could have brought them into.
In John 17:9, 15 we see Jesus prays saying, ‘I pray for them. I am not praying for the world, but for those whom you have given me, for they are yours. “I am not praying that you should take them out of the world, but that you should keep them from the evil one.
Praying is something the Lord Jesus now does for all believers . That is the reason why they will be kept in the faith to the end. This is a great encouragement to all who understand its meaning. Doubtless His prayers for all His believers will also be answered .This is one very good reason why believers will never perish.
