*What a Wonderful Deliverance!*
> `“But whosoever drinketh of the water that I shall give him shall never thirst; but the water that I shall give him shall be in him a well of water springing up into everlasting life.”— John 4:14`
A Samaritan woman came to draw water in the scorching afternoon, when no one usually came to the well. Was it the shame of her sins, the fear of people, or the seemingly impossible possibility of changing herself? Whatever the reason, she would not come to draw water until the afternoon. She remained thirsty, waiting for a time when no one would be around.
But one day, Jesus came to give her water so that she would never thirst again! Although Jesus knew everything about the woman, He did not humiliate her. Just as someone gently touches a wounded person, Jesus slowly began to touch the wounded places in her life. The conversation grew deeper, the veil began to lift from her understanding, and she recognized that through Jesus’ words, she was being set free. Her heart recognized the Creator, and a fountain of abundant life began to flow within her.
The shame, the fear of people, and the seemingly impossible thought of changing herself—all of it disappeared! She went into the village in the middle of the day and began to proclaim: _“Come, see a man, which told me all things that ever I did: is not this the Christ?” — John 4:29_
People may have told her the same things about her life that Jesus revealed to her. But their words had wounded her. Yet, when she encountered someone who revealed the truth about her life, her wounds began to heal.
I pray that you, too, will experience the same!
