Strength That Serves others, Not Self

*Strength That Serves others, Not Self*

> “For, brethren, ye have been called unto liberty; only use not liberty for an occasion to the flesh, but by love serve one another.”Galatians 5:13

The call to follow Christ is not a call to self-preservation, but to self-surrender. When we give our lives to Him, we lay down our right to live for our own comfort, preferences, and recognition. The strong in faith are not elevated for privilege, but entrusted with responsibility—to carry, to endure, and to uphold those who are weak. True strength in the Kingdom is revealed not in independence, but in patient love.

A surrendered life refuses the subtle temptation of self-pleasing. Instead, it intentionally seeks the good of others. This is not mere outward kindness, but a deliberate commitment to build others up spiritually. Every word, every action, and every response becomes a tool for edification. Such a life understands that pleasing others in Christ is not compromise, but cooperation with God’s purpose of growth in His people.

Christ Himself is the pattern. He did not walk the earth seeking His own ease or honor, but willingly bore reproach, rejection, and the weight of others’ failures. The insults meant for God fell upon Him, yet He remained obedient. In the same way, a life yielded to Christ embraces discomfort for the sake of others’ spiritual progress. This is not weakness—it is the very expression of divine love.

Therefore, to live for Christ is to carry hearts, not just convictions. It is to walk in humility, bearing with one another, absorbing offense, and choosing edification over self-expression. Such a life may not resemble worldly royalty, but in heaven’s sight, it reflects the very nature of Christ—who gave Himself so that others might live.
