The Firstborn of Every Creature
> “Who is the image of the invisible God, the firstborn of every creature.” — Colossians 1:15
In this single verse, heaven unveils a mystery too vast for human mind — the *eternal Sonship and supremacy of Christ*. The title *“Firstborn of every creature”* is not a statement of origin but of *rank*, *authority*, and *divine inheritance*. Before time began, before creation breathed its first, *Christ was* — the Word, co-eternal with the Father, through whom all things came into being.
He is not counted *among* creation, for *He is the source of creation.* He is not a creature elevated, but *the Creator enthroned.* The firstborn is the *one who reigns*, the *heir of all*, and the *visible image of the invisible God*. In Him, we see the face of the Father — mercy embodied, truth revealed, glory made flesh.
All things in heaven and on earth, visible and invisible — thrones, dominions, principalities, and powers — were *created by Him and for Him*. The galaxies move by His command; the angels serve by His decree; the breath in our lungs belongs to His sustaining word.
He is before all things, and by Him all things consist. To call Him *Firstborn* is to recognize that every realm — physical and spiritual — finds its center in His Lordship. He is the *Firstborn of Creation* — the rightful Heir and Sovereign over all.
He is the *Firstborn from the Dead* — the Resurrection and the Life, the first to conquer death and open the door of immortality for His people. In both creation and redemption, *Christ holds preeminence*.
Therefore, to behold Jesus is to behold the pattern of all existence — the image of God into which creation is being restored. The Father has declared that in all things, His Son shall have the *preeminence*. And every knee — in heaven, on earth, and under the earth — shall bow before Him who is, *“the First and the Last, the Beginning and the End.”*
