*The Measure in God’s Hand*
Behold, the LORD’s hand is not shortened, that it cannot save; neither his ear heavy, that it cannot hear. Isaiah 59:1 KJV
God’s help is not automatic just because we are weak. Throughout Scripture, we see that His response is drawn out by faith, obedience, and seriousness of heart. The measure of seriousness with which you walk with God will become the measure of strength and favor with which He walks with you.
God honors honesty more than vulnerability, commitment more than complaint, and faith more than fear. If we walk casually, we will see little. If we walk earnestly, we will see much. Jesus said, *“With the measure you use, it will be measured to you—and even more.”* (Mark 4:24). What we place in God’s hand—our devotion, surrender, and pursuit—becomes the measure He uses to release His answer.
The widow who cried to Elisha in her poverty (2 Kings 4:1–7) was not answered because she was merely desperate. She was answered because she obeyed, gathered vessels, and gave God something to multiply. Her seriousness became the vessel of her miracle. Hannah was not heard simply because she was barren, but because she vowed and poured out her soul before the Lord (1 Samuel 1:11–15). Her vow became the measure in God’s hand, and out of her pain came a prophet.
So let us not only cry for help, but also provide God with the measure of our faith and obedience—because He multiplies what we place in His hand.
