Our great expectation!
Awaiting and confidently EXPECTATING the [fulfillment of our] blessed hope and the glorious appearing of our great God and Savior, Christ Jesus (Titus 2:13)
The Great Expectation is the Blessed Hope—the certain anticipation of Christ’s imminent return for His Church. It is not a vague dream but a living reality promised in Scripture, the glorious appearing of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ.
It is the believer’s deliverance from wrath, for we are not appointed to judgment but to salvation through Him. This hope strengthens us in trials, assuring us that the darkness of the world is not our destiny. The Great Expectation is also a purifying force. Knowing He could return at any moment calls us to holiness, vigilance, and faithfulness. It is a hope that refines the heart and disciplines the walk.
It is a crown of joy for those who love His appearing, a reward for the Bride that longs for her Bridegroom. This expectation stirs evangelistic fire, urging us to warn the lost and win them before the door of grace closes.
Above all, the Great Expectation is a longing for Jesus Himself—the joy of reunion, the end of sorrow, the fulfillment of every promise. It is not merely escape from tribulation, but entrance into eternal fellowship with the One we love.
