“Rapture = Snatched”
Then we which are alive and remain shall be caught up (be snatched) together with them in the clouds, to meet the Lord in the air: and so shall we ever be with the Lord (1 Thessalonians 4:17)
The Rapture is not a gentle call but a sudden *snatching*—a forceful act of God’s love. *“Then we who are alive… shall be caught up together… to meet the Lord in the air”* (1 Thessalonians 4:17). God’s people are rescued from a world descending into judgment. Just as Lot was hastened out of Sodom, and Noah was shut in the ark, so will Christ’s bride be swiftly lifted out of peril. In an instant, in the *“twinkling of an eye”* (1 Corinthians 15:52), mortality will be swallowed up by immortality.
To be snatched means there is no negotiation, no delay, no chance to cling to the earth. It is a forceful act of love—God rescuing His children before wrath is unleashed (1 Thessalonians 1:10). It reminds us that the world is not our home, and our attachment here must remain light.
It is urgency and intimacy combined: urgency because judgment follows, intimacy because Jesus Himself descends with a shout (1 Thessalonians 4:16). The Rapture is not escape in fear, but deliverance in glory. It is the Bridegroom claiming His own. The question is—will you be ready to be seized by His love?
*“Watch therefore, for ye know not what hour your Lord doth come”* (Matthew 24:42).
