Why is the devil after you ?
The thief cometh not, but for to steal, and to kill, and to destroy: I am come that they might have life, and that they might have it more abundantly. John 10:10
The devil is after humans because we are the crown of God’s creation. We were formed in His image, filled with His breath, and chosen to walk in fellowship with Him. Angels never knew such intimacy, yet man was called the beloved.
This is why Satan’s hatred burns against us.
When Lucifer fell, he lost his glory. Cast down, stripped of light, he rages against the God who judged him. But he cannot touch God’s throne, so he strikes at God’s children. His war is against the heart of God, and we are that heart.
Every temptation he brings is meant to twist our allegiance. Every deception is designed to blur the truth of God’s Word. Every attack is aimed at stealing our faith, our joy, and our destiny. He comes only to steal, kill, and destroy.
But the good news is greater: Christ has already triumphed. On the cross, Jesus disarmed principalities and powers. In Him we have authority. In Him we overcome.
So the devil is after you because you are valuable. You are loved. You are marked for glory. His hatred is proof of your worth. And in Christ, you are never a victim—you are more than a conqueror.
