The Chains of Blame and the Freedom of Surrender”

The Chains of Blame and the Freedom of Surrender”

And do not murmur [in unwarranted discontent], as some of them did—and were destroyed by the destroyer. 1 Corinthians 10:10 AMP

Blame began in Eden. Adam blamed Eve. Eve blamed the serpent. Since then, the human heart has found comfort in shifting responsibility.

A man’s own folly ruins his life, yet his heart rages against the Lord (Proverbs 19:3). When people blame others, they see themselves as victims of injustice. They nurse bitterness because they believe God and men have been unfair to them.

Blame resists surrender. It refuses to bow. It hides from repentance and clings to self-pity. A blaming heart cannot be grateful. It forgets what God has done and magnifies what He has not done.

Israel murmured in the wilderness and called God unjust. Yet manna fell daily at their feet. Complaint blinded them to His mercies. In the same way, when gratitude is absent, the soul becomes estranged from the very God who sustains it.

Blame alienates. Gratitude reconciles. Surrender opens the door to grace. When we stop pointing fingers and lift our hands in thanksgiving, God restores, heals, and works all things for our good.
