*You have authority over everything!*
`But God, who is rich in mercy, for his great love wherewith he loved us, even when we were dead in sins, hath quickened us together with Christ, (by grace ye are saved;) and hath raised us up together, and made us sit together in heavenly places in Christ Jesus. (Ephesians 2:4–6)`
Did you know that you are seated with Christ in heavenly places? What does this really mean? The phrase “sit together”comes from the Greek word sugkathizō, which means “to place together,” “to cause to sit down together.” It refers to an act of benevolence whereby a king or other ruler extends his kingdom to friends, family, and dignitaries as an expression of equality or co-authority. To us, it means that you and I possess the same authority that Jesus Christ has. Really? you may think. Why? It is certainly amazing that God has extended His kingdom to us, through Jesus Christ, and has caused us to be joint-heirs with Jesus. (Romans 8:17)
How does this authority affect us on a daily basis? It means that we don’t have to give in to the devil ever again. It means that anxiety, depression, fear, and other types of torment no longer have the legal right to control us. It means that we can bind the evil one. Jesus has anointed us as “spiritual resource oficers” in the earthly realm. He took the keys from Satan and gave them back to the church. So, what’s the problem? It’s very simple: Ignorance! It is impossible to exercise authority that you don’t know you possess. The Bible makes it clear that a lack of knowledge is dangerous.
Never forget ! We have more authority over the enemy than we often realize. Once we embrace this God-given authority in Christ, the enemy will be more afraid of us than we are of him.
