We must always remember that the enemy of our souls, Satan, prowls around like a roaring lion seeking someone to devour (1 Peter 5:8). His best tool is that he is the master liar, as he is the Father of Lies (John 8:44). The best lie is the one closest to the truth. Actually, even better is the truth itself given in a way that leads a person to the wrong conclusion.
If you have given your life to Christ, you are lost to Satan. The best he can do now is to convince you not to be effective in building God’s kingdom. All of our salvation was accomplished by Christ, but we were saved for a reason. We were saved for good works. Not just any good works—works specifically prepared for each of us to accomplish at the beginning of time. He predestined for you. Make no mistake about it, we will be rewarded for completing the tasks God gave us at the beginning of creation, and we will suffer loss for those we didn’t.
Therefore, we must be diligent every moment of every day to guard our souls and to gather regularly with godly brothers and sisters who will sharpen us and hold us accountable.
