God’s Protection

But the Lord is faithful, who shall stablish you, and keep you from evil. 2 Thessalonians 3:3
The world has become a dangerous place because of the sin of mankind and the resultant curses. People become victim of natural disasters, crime, poor health, and such evil. It is natural to want protection from life’s pain and suffering. Does the Bible promise us God’s protection?
There are many places in God’s Word where we are promised physical protection from God. For instance, Psalm 121:3 says, “He will not suffer thy foot to be moved: he that keepeth thee will not slumber.”
It is important to understand that we are under the new covenant, not the old. God need not do another promise to protect believers in Christ from physical harm, it is inherently ours. There are certainly times when He uses His merciful shield to protect us from situations where we might be harmed or injured. Paul and Luke’s survival from shipwreck in Acts 27 and Paul’s survival from a serpent bite in Acts 28 are examples of the same.
When we believe in Jesus Christ for salvation, the Holy Spirit takes over our lives and we are sealed for eternity and are placed under God’s spiritual protection from that moment onwards.
Yours in Christ,
