The temporary trouble!
For our light affliction, which is but for a moment, worketh for us a far more exceeding and eternal weight of glory
2 Corinthians 4:17
God’s word assures us today that the hard times are small potatoes compared to the coming good times, the lavish celebration prepared for us. You may hope that things will get better, but it seems as if they’re only getting worse. Perhaps Satan has convinced you that this “faith stuff” doesn’t really work. He may even be telling you that it doesn’t do any good to speak the Word and do things God’s way. The devil is hoping that you will eventually fall for these lies. He’s hoping that the “sifting” will work and he will succeed in breaking you down.
No wonder Jesus warned Peter about this, saying, “Simon, stay on your toes….” In other words, you must stay alert and be on guard at all times! Surely, the devil plans to damage your life as much as he can, even to the point of killing you. But he cannot succeed if you will only use your God-given authority!
You cannot afford to get lukewarm in your faith or allow doubt and unbelief to steal your victory. Keep your foot on the devil’s neck by boldly proclaiming the Word of God,never wavering in your faith. Declare, “It is written…” in every situation, and do not quit until you see the manifestation of your prayers.
