*What Are You Boasting In?*
> “Let not the wise man glory in his wisdom, neither let the mighty man glory in his might, let not the rich man glory in his riches: But let him that glorieth glory in this, that he understandeth and knoweth me…” — Book of Jeremiah 9:23–24
God speaks to a people who looked strong outwardly but were empty inwardly. They had religion, structure, and identity — yet they did not truly know Him. The Lord cuts through every outer layer and confronts the heart: What are you boasting in?
Human wisdom can impress men but cannot secure eternity. Strength can build platforms but cannot sustain the soul. Riches may provide comfort but cannot produce peace with God. When these become our confidence, they quietly replace Him.
To “know” the Lord is not information — it is intimacy. It is to walk with Him, to understand His heart, and to reflect His character. God delights in lovingkindness, justice, and righteousness. When we know Him, we begin to delight in the same things.
We can build, preach, organize, and expand — yet slowly begin to glory in results rather than relationship. Success is not proof of intimacy. Activity is not the same as abiding. True glory is simple and eternal: that we understand and know Him. When wisdom fades, when strength weakens, when resources fail — this alone remains.⁹ààF
May our greatest testimony never be *what we built, but Whom we knew.*
